Vegan Recipe: Easy end Delicious Apple Strudel

Vegan Recipe: The strudel is stuffed pasta whose origin is central Europe. It is very common in German and Austrian cuisine. Here you have the apple strudel recipe, a vegan recipe easy to prepare and worth trying.

1 cup and 1/2 of flour

2-3 tablespoons sunflower oil (or soft olive)

1/2 glass of water

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon vegetable margarine

3/4 cup of sugar

1 kg. Of apples (golden type)

100 gr. raisins

100 gr. Rolled almonds (or walnuts or pistachios)

50 ml of rum

3 tablespoons bread crumbs

1/2 tablespoons cinnamon



Mix in a bowl flour + warm water + oil + salt. We knead all well and leave the mass of our “apfelstrudel” 30 min at rest covered with a cloth.

Meanwhile, we prepare the filling. Peel the apples and cut them into sheets of about 2-3 mm. Leave the raisins to soak with the rum and on the other side we mix the sugar with the cinnamon.

Now we can preheat the oven to about 190-200 degrees.

After leaving the dough rest the spread with a roll on a rag of clean cooking floured (which will help us roll up the strudel). The dough should be very thin and of a size of 25×30 cm. Approx. Once the dough is stretched we put a thin layer of margarine and sprinkle breadcrumbs.

For the filling, we mix the apples, the almonds and the raisins (previously removing the rum) along with the sugar and the cinnamon.We extend the filling of our apple strudel on the dough leaving some free edge, which will help us close it later.

Wrap the dough carefully with the cloth. Close the edges well and spread with vegetable margarine, if we do not have the oven prepared we can wrap the strudel in transparent film and reserve until it can be put into the oven.

Bake 30 to 40 min (until we see that the dough is made).

The apple strudel (Vegan Recipe)is a typical German and Austrian sweet. Before serving, let it rest a little so that the filling does not burn, but it is recommended to eat it just when it is still hot. It is usually sprinkled with icing sugar.
